mypension.be is constantly evolving
mypension.be shows information on the basis of the details we have at that time. These details can evolve through time or can be added to. This means that the information shown on mypension.be can evolve.
This can happen, for example, because:
- the career details are updated every 3 months,
- details are corrected or added by your employer or another institution,
- the legislation changes, which entails a change in the pension calculation,
- your personal situation changes, for example when you change your job, start to work part-time or start to work abroad.
Consequently, the estimated pension amount or your earliest possible retirement date can change.
In addition, we are constantly working on improving mypension.be. We adapt the website to the civilians' needs, improve the user-friendliness and constantly make sure the information is ever more clear and complete. In this way, we can keep you well-informed and you will get an ever clearer picture of your pension.
We therefore advise you to check your details on mypension.be from time to time. In this way, you remain abreast of the most recent information concerning your pension.
What influence does the reform have on mypension.be?
On mypension.be, we make an estimate of your future pension on the basis of the current pension legislation.
As of 1 January 2027, the rules will change for:
- the calculation of the earliest retirement date
- the calculation of the pension amount
Below, you can find out the impact on mypension.be
As soon as the pension reform has been voted, we will temporarily remove some details from mypension.be
What will change on mypension.be?
From 8 June 2026, certain estimates will temporarily be removed from mypension.be. We do this to ensure that we always show accurate and reliable information.
If we were to show estimates in accordance with the old rules, these could arouse false expectations. We want to avoid that you take decisions that could negatively impact your financial situation.
Which information remains available?
- Your statutory retirement date,
- You will also still be able to:
- apply for your pension (retirement and survivor's pension, GIEP)
- view and fill in your documents
- change your personal details
- fill in the contact form
- view your payments
- Your supplementary pension
Please note: if you only retire in or after 2027, your pension amount can change due to different, new pension rules from 2027.
Which functionalities will temporarily be taken down?
For those potentially impacted by the reform, the following will temporarily not be shown:
- the estimate of the earliest retirement date,
- the estimate of the pension amount, both at the earliest date and at the statutory retirement date,
- the functionality to make estimates.
Why will these functionalities temporarily be taken down?
As of 1 January 2027, the rules will change for:
- the calculation of the earliest retirement date
- the calculation of the pension amount
This means that our calculation programmes must be adapted.
We are already preparing the renewed mypension.be

Don't use your career details to check the impact of the reform on your pension
Many people use their career details on mypension.be to check whether they meet the conditions of the announced pension reform. For example, they check whether they will be able to retire early and whether they will be penalised.
However, it is important to note that with the details available today you cannot yet ascertain whether the reform will affect your pension.
The career details you see on mypension.be under 'My career' are an overview of all periods in your career. To calculate your pension, we check which of these periods can be taken into account under the current pension legislation.
In other words, we do not know yet how the worked and assimilated days you see now on mypension.be will be processed when the future legislation comes into force. We will not know this for sure until the law has effectively been voted in.
When the law is final, we have to:
- analyse the new rules,
- add the rules to mypension.be,
- test everything thoroughly.
Only then can we offer you accurate and reliable information.
Summarised:
- at the moment, you cannot use the career details under 'My career' to find out whether the reform will affect your pension.
- mypension.be will only be updated after the new law has been voted in and has been processed.
- we will keep you informed, step by step, through our communication channels.
What impact does the limitation of your unemployment benefit have on your estimate at mypension.be?
For the estimate of your future career, we rely on your career of the preceding year, as we do not have all of the current year’s details yet. This means that for an estimate in 2026, we use the details of 2025.
You have received a letter from the NEO about the discontinuation of your unemployment benefit?
- The NEO also informs us that you have received a letter.
- Thanks to this exchange, we are thus also made aware that your situation has changed and that we cannot project your current career details to estimate your future retirement date and pension amount.
- As long as we don't know what you will do in the future, we will no longer show you an estimate. In this way, we avoid that you rely on an incorrect date or amount to plan your retirement.
You are unemployed and are currently receiving an unemployment benefit?
- As long as you don’t receive a letter from the NEO about the discontinuation of your benefit, we rely on your current situation for our estimate.
- If your situation changes, your retirement date and pension amount may change too. This is why you are shown a warning at mypension.be.

Frequently asked questions about mypension.be
If you believe you are entitled to an early retirement, you can always file an application 12 months before the desired date at the earliest:
- If you are not yet entitled at the requested date, you will meet with a refusal.
- If possible, we will also inform you of your earliest possible retirement date.
This reform impacts the calculation of the earliest retirement date, as well as the calculation of the pension amount and pension penalty.
As long as a law has not been voted in, we are not allowed to apply it. But behind the scenes, we already initiated the first analyses after the 2nd reading of the pension bill. Our teams are busy adapting processes, calculation engines and file systems.
Every file is different because every career is different: when you started working, whether you worked full-time or part-time, whether you had a career as an employee, civil servant or self-employed worker or worked in several schemes, whether or not you interrupted your career, etc.
The reform doesn't impact everyone in the same way. There is therefore no point in comparing.
